Welding
Assessment of welds according to BS 7123 (obsolete), ISO 17660 and CARES Appendices 6 and 10. In conjunction with our sister company Metamet Consultants, we can offer a full weld procedure development and testing package (see www.metamet.co.uk).
Tensile testing
Tensile testing can be performed on cruciform and lap joints to a number of standards, including BS EN ISO 15630-2, BS 4449:1997/2005 and ASTM A370. Tensile testing capability up to 1200kN capacity, suitable for bars and wires 4mm to 40mm diameter. This includes testing of welded fabric.
Shear testing
Shear testing of cruciform welded joints according to BS EN ISO 15630-2, up to 40mm diameter. This includes cruciform welded joints in welded fabric.
Macro examination
Preparation of weld macros for assessment of weld defects, according to BS 7123 and CARES Appendices 6 and 10.
Hardness profiles
Measurement of hardness profiles according to ISO 15614-1, and ISO 6507-1. This is part of the weld procedure approval according to CARES appendices 6 and 10.
