Other Testing

Although geared primarily toward the reinforcing steel market, R-TECH's equipment is suitable for general mechanical testing, and metallographic examination.   
     
Tensile testing is available up to 1200kN maximum load. Fittings are available for testing of rounds, flats and angles. Non-standard loading arrangements can be manufactured on-site at ECM². If you have a special requirement, please discuss it with us.   
    

Fatigue testing can be performed in tension-tension or tension-compression modes. Tests can be run at up to 250kN maximum load, with a maximum stress range of 300kN, at frequencies up to 150Hz.

Weld assessments can be performed for weld procedure and welder approvals. Techniques include visual and macro examination, tensile, bend and hardness testing. Non-Destructive Testing is sub-contracted.   
     
With access to the specialist facilities at ECM², R-TECH can offer a complete metallographic testing service. Applications would include weld inspection, checking heat treatment (spheroidisation of carbide, depth of decarburisation etc).
