Prestressing Steel
Standard tests can be applied to prestressing wire, strand and bars produced according to BS 5896, BS 4466 and prEN10138. Non-standard tests such as stress relaxation, stress corrosion and deflected tensile tests are available on request.
Tensile testing
Tensile testing can be performed to a number of standards, including BS EN 10002-1and BS EN ISO 15630-3. Tensile testing capability up to 1200kN capacity, suitable for strand, wire and bar. Measurement of Young’s modulus and stress-strain curves can be provided.
Fatigue testing
Fatigue testing to BS EN ISO 15630-3. Range of fatigue test machines available covering stresses up to 270 kN, with grips for bar, wire and strand.
Reverse bend test
Reverse bend testing of prestressing wire according to BS EN ISO 15630-3.
Chemical analysis
Chemical analysis for all standard elements in prestressing steels using Optical Emission Spectroscopy (OES), Inductive Coupled Plasma (ICP) or combustion methods as appropriate.
Indentation geometry
Measurement of all indentation dimensions according to BS EN ISO 15630-3, using automated computer controlled image analysis system.
